ISO BUTANOL

Isobutanol is a primary alcohol and an alkyl alcohol1. It is produced by the carbonylation of propylene, with hydroformylation being the more common method2. The reaction is catalyzed by cobalt or rhodium complexes, and generates a mixture of isobutyraldehydes.
